Seneca

During the height of Nero’s reign in 65 AD, conspiracies begin to threaten his despotic rule in Rome. Despite his efforts to defend his sovereignty, Nero’s excessive lifestyle and self-indulgence have made him a target of opposition. His mentor and advisor since childhood, the philosopher Seneca, becomes a victim of Nero’s paranoia and is falsely accused of being involved in a foiled assassination attempt on the emperor’s life. The once close relationship between the two men becomes strained, as Nero turns on the very person who helped him ascend to power.
